The National Plant Operators Registration Scheme is designed to provide trainees with information and skills which are heavily focused on construction safety training. This is now a United Kingdom leading Accreditation and Registration Body who work across many different sectors including Construction, Utilities, Agricultural, Warehousing and Distribution, Industrial, and Ports and Marine Sectors.

When you sit a NPROS training course, you will find that it maintains its very high standards, while still offering flexibility. It does this through working with industry and Accredited Training Providers. Although there are no Government distributed licenses for vehicles at work, employers have a legal responsibility to certify that every employee is adequately trained to operate any piece of work equipment to a safe standard and place them on the correct safety course for their job title and role.

The NPORS Training is mainly applied to a wide assortment of plant machinery and the training course is available to be carried out on-site. The Construction Plan Competence Scheme (CPCS), on the other hand, is mainly carried out at approved training centres.

The CPCS training courses provide a registration card scheme which is acknowledged by the industry for employees involved in plant operations. This course recognises your skills, knowledge and understanding, competence and qualifications.

CPCS can provide trainees with training through their National Construction College and National Specialist Accredited Centre. They also offer awards and accreditation through CSkills Awards and a specialist team and in Scotland, this is based on the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework. If you are serious about a career in construction, then the CPCS course is a must.
